Onion Cipolla Rossa di Toscana Red Globe Planted

planted the onions seeded previously

in same bed added Spring Garlic bulbs gathered from various places

Onion Cipolla Rossa di Toscana Red Globe Heirloom Rare Italian Strain

Allium cepa. Red. 120 days.

Glossy, red skinned, deeper, more top shaped bulbs of darker flesh with red tinge to the rings. the flavour of Onion Cipolla Rossa di Toscana is quite pungent. Ideal for storing and using throughout the autumn and winter. These beautiful, dark red Italian onions can get very large Classic flattened cipollini shape. White and red layered flesh is very pungent. Strong necks are good for braiding. Studies conducted at the University of Perugia’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences showed this variety to have the highest levels of immune stimulating polyphenols and antioxidants. Maybe it should be, “An onion a day keeps the doctor away?”
