June 7, 2026 A frame for Squash Gourds

 Jackie planted at walnut stump small glober watermelon. at last year's sunflower bed- sunflowers -2 rows in  centre and 1 row either side with Zinnia elegans. also planted ranunculus bulbs

ALso planted Curry Plant- Curry plant (Helichrysum italicum) is an aromatic perennial (USDA Zones 8-11) herb with silver-grey needle-shaped leaves that emit a heady curry scent. The plant grows 60-90 cm tall and approximately 50 cm wide and rewards you in summer with yellow flowers that contrast beautifully against the silver foliage.

Camping beds- erected a frame for squash and gourds- held together with zip ties and wood screws

about 16 ft long. posts 4 ft apart. so on one side 5 posts. Tomato were planted there last year on 24" centres. So each post is in between 2 tomato holes.
Jackie had bought a Cocozma -(OPA UPO) large- with 2 seedlings.
I had 2 boxes of Opa upo seedlings
a box of chinese bitter melon a box of Luffa
and a box of Trombocino
Added some Trombcino seeds about 4pp, in about 4 spots.

Added 2 purple allysum - pollinator, predator attacting flowers
Have to add some daikon seed

Down the midle of the poly- planted 4 pp seeds of  Hubbard Orange Squash and Acorn Squash- about 4-5 holes each. At the far end- plant 3pp grey Zucchini- 3 spots.

On the south side planted about 4-5 basil and 1 red shiso.

Plants got a dollop of 10-52-10 water soluble, some chicken manure pellets

Potatoes- filled the 4 bags with 4-5 inches fo manure/wood chips and some soil. Marco/Jackie put 4 potato chunks in each.

Have to fill 5-6 inches more
