For fresh local fruit, try Cherry Avenue Farms in Vineland, just outside of Beamsville. Well organized. A pick your own place. Cherries have just finished, but apricots are in full swing with peaches just around the corner.
We were able to be some seconds to make jam. What a great way to preserve the fresh taste of some great fruit.

Far Back Veggie Bed
The cabbage and broccoli are doing well. The cabbage are starting to have pointy heads. I think it is because they are about to bolt.
The broccoli have developed nice side heads. Quite big. I think it is because the first heads were cut quite low. Otherwise they tend to have smaller little heads.

solar collector angle
For these purposes, the general practice is to use flat-plate solar energy or evacuated tube collectors with a fixed orientation (position). The highest efficiency with a fixed flat-plate collector or evacuated tube collector is obtained if it faces toward the sun and slopes at an angle to the horizon equal to the latitude plus about 10 degrees. Solar collectors fall into two general categories: non-concentrating and concentrating.
