Dam seeds says 8-10 pounds drilled, 14-16 lb broadcast per acre
or for 1000 sq ft 2-3 lb. - which is ridiculous since that would be 88 lb per acre.

Calculations @6lb/acre
450 gr x6= 2700 grams
2700/ 44= 60 grams per 1000 sq ft
6 grams per 100 sq ft
2 grams per 4x8 bed
6 grams is about 250 seeds
= 8 per sq ft so plant 3-4" apart
Seeded one bed of tillage radish today
Seeding Rates for Tillage Radish Planted Alone
Precision Planter - 4 lbs/acre
- 15" rows using 60-cell small milo or small sugar beet plates with 4" in-row spacing
- Seed is selected for Precision Planting performance
Drill Seeder - 6 lbs/acre
- Using small grass box, use alfalfa setting as a guide to set seeding rate. A large seed box can be used but the setting is very low and somewhat difficult to establish. Plant a few rounds with a known amount of seed to determine correct seeding rate
Broadcasting/Aerial Seeding - 8 lbs/acre
- Strive for good soil and moisture contact
- Corn seeding indicator is when 1" patches of sunlight on soil surface are seen or approximately 4 weeks prior to anticipated harvest time
- Soybean seeding indicator is at leaf yellowing
- Cotton seeding indicator is right before defoliation
- Improve success rate by using drop tubes when seeding with a high clearance cover crop seeder
Milling oats- Dam says 2-3 lb per 1000 or 80-110 lb per acre
so 32 sq ft = 30 grams
1/4 cup = 30 grams
7 gram =175 seeds or 25 seeds per gram
30 grams = 750 seeds
=2.5 inches apart
