Potatoes in bee boxes

harvest from the 4 boxes on the left- 

position on tray reflects the position of the boxes

Photo below adds the 2 other boxes on the right

Potato tubers were almost all down at the point of planting
So when planting- plant on a raised mound and then hill up after that

Same with bags- put a good amount of soil in the bottom- 12" then Jill up from that point??

Sweet potato harvest

Whole lot in the planting hole- soil was softer
Where the vine roots- there were som small roots swelling

Next year- make sure to grow in a bed with well loosened soil
And encourage vines to root wherever possible
