squash planting in main bed June 2, 2016
in main bed had hilled up the middle and put down poly
planed 12 squash plant
4 Hubbard
4 Buttercup
4 Waltham Buttnernut
also planted a tomato, some marigold, a hibiscus, a lavatera under the catalpa at back of house
Planted the 6 1-gal pots of Everbearing Raspberries at far end of the garden beds past the rhubarb patch
The pots had 3 cans per pot- so split the plants and put 9 canes in each 8 ft bed
Dug out the grass, went down shovel depth and removed most of the clay
Added black soil, peat moss and some HG leaves into trench
Backfilled with more black soil
Thursday June 3 added water soluble fert to most of the beds at the back
mixed 20-20-20 with 10-52-10 to end up with 15-36-15 for some beds

Austrian Pine Steps
added black soil to the beds at the new steps near the pine
split the variegated hosta that had been stuck there- Came from under the old deck
Added hostas to the primroses that had been transplanted there
also a ostrich fern from front of the house, and some violas from under the mulberry
Planted a canna, a castor bean, liatris
plus a zinnia and marigold that had been seeded
basil also
add black soil on top of the she-so basil-
bed here also contains evening primrose, and lilies and shasta daisy clump

A Few seeds were left from the California poppy pack- seeded 3 rows near the rhubarb at the harp
